I grew up in a small rural town, far from the world of modern design. After graduating, I discovered my passion working for a boutique landscape design firm in downtown Toronto, led by a landscape designer and an architect. It was there that I fell in love with modern architecture and outdoor spaces—minimal, thoughtful, and deeply connected to nature.
When I returned home, I quickly realized that this kind of design wasn’t accessible to those living outside major cities. Black Cabin was born from the belief that great design shouldn't be limited by geography. We have a deep appreciation for simplicity—both in how we live and in the spaces we live in. Our mission is to connect modern architecture with the natural world by becoming involved early in the design process, collaborating with homeowners, architects, and interior designers.
With over 20 years of experience in design, construction, and building strong client relationships, I’ve honed the skills that bring each project to life. I’m deeply passionate about art, design, nature, architecture, and technology—and I believe in using visuals as a powerful tool to communicate design vision with clarity and intention.
The result is a seamless flow between indoors and out—between structure, materials, people, and nature. By combining our passion with technology, Black Cabin exists as a fully remote studio, making modern, high-quality landscape design accessible from anywhere in the world.
Over time, we’ve developed a seamless and collaborative process that makes it easy for clients to share their lifestyle, aesthetic, and site details—no matter where they live. By combining clear communication, design intuition, and digital tools, we’re able to understand each space with accuracy and create beautiful, thoughtful landscapes designed for the way our clients truly live.
